
Our
home, Hiawassee, is located in Towns County, Georgia, two hours north of
Atlanta. Another incorporated town in our county is Young Harris, home
of Young Harris College.
Of the 106,240 acres of land in Towns county, the Chattahoochee National Forest covers over 57,000 acres and another 7000 acres is owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) which built Lake Chatuge in 1941.
Brasstown Bald, the highest peak in Georgia at 4,784 feet, is located on the Towns, Union county line.
